I kid you not.. read this article for further details:
The 10 Best Animated Movies for (Traumatizing) Kids
I’ve never seen half of these movies.. including "Transformers: The Movie".. I know, I know.. what kind of geek am I?
Personally, I don’t think I’d let my kid watch most of these, but mostly cause they look like they suck.
In other news, there’s been another school shooting in the states. I’m waiting for Jack Thompson to appear and blame video games.
And in case you were wondering if the world has gone to hell yet: "YouTube Britney Spears fan to get own show"
The end is nigh, and I don’t even believe in God.

Mer
Alrighty.
Watership Down is one of the best goddamn movies base don one of the best goddamn books. Granted I have been attached to the movie and the book since really before I can remember. And yeah the movie and TERRIFYING sometimes and my dad read the book to me oh say around kindergarten age. I read it every year.
Transformers: The Movie is just awesome. End. Of. Story. Again completely traumatized byt the whole Optimus Prime dying thing (he was my frist boyfriend afterall)
The Incredibles is great, Pixar and Brad Bird and their finest. Though I am perplexed of the absence of The Iron Giant on this list. You want a kid’s movie that’ll put you through the emotional ringer, it’s the ONE!
The Lion King was arguably the best of Disney’s new gen. classic animated features but it more fun to watch for the oodles of subliminal messages then the Hamlet subtext
It SO says SEX in the dust Simba kicks up into the wind!!!! The Hunchback of Notre Dame is based on the gruesomely dark Victor Hugo novel and Disney all Disneyfied it up, it had some creepy moments though. The Black Cauldron now that’s a Disney movie that’ll mess you up!
And Pom Poko
Being a fan of Studio Ghibli I love Pom Poko and giant magical racoon testes aside, the story is about environmental awareness and extinction. it’s gets pretty bloody bleak by the end of it all, even with the magic balls
However if you want Studio Ghibli animated features that will scar you Grave of the Fireflies wins hands down. Oh it’s only a delightful little tale of a young boy and his infant sister DYING of radiation poisoning after Hiroshima. It’s absolutely heartbreaking but also one of the most incredible pieces of film in existence.
But seriously they leave The Last Unicorn of this list. The Last Unicorn! It had a HARPY in it that attacked and killed and ripped the flesh from the bones of two characters! Not to mention King Haggard (voiced by the incomparable Christopher Lee) and The Red Bull - not the drink! - the gigantic demon fiery bull which hunted down and herded all the unicorns of the world into the sea. The Last Unicorn, Transformers, and Watership Down were specifically the films of my childhood and all left an inedible mark on me.
And I am so a well-adjusted member of society.
Oh yeah, there was also Dr. Snuggles. The 30-minute tv show I watched, pretty much the only tv show watched as a kid. Dr. Snuggles, one cute little curly white haired german grandad fighting against all the forces out to destroy nature and the earth. Pre-Captain Planet and also much less retarded.
Ok, I’m done now……..I can’t wait to have kids!
