Review: An Inconvenient Truth

I was going to write a bit about my wonderful experiences Sunday Shopping, but again, Jen took care of exactly what I wanted to say!

Read: what did you do on your God-given day of rest?

So, instead I’ll talk about Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth“, which Michelle and I saw on Saturday. (Rhonda was dress shopping for our friend’s wedding).

First of all, I defiantly recommend that you all go and see it, not because I think it is mind blowing, or that it will “open your eyes”, but because it is mainly, just a good, informative move, and interesting. Not for a second was I bored (well, except for maybe a minute where he digressed to his loss vs. Bush in the 200 election, but only cause I know ALL about that already…).

He goes over some very solid, well backed scientific theories & evidence that Global warming is in fact effecting us today, and that we (the human civilization) are the main cause of it. From research on core samples taken from the Antarctic & Arctic regions, to receding glaciers, to trends of extreme warming, etc, he lays it all out without pointing fingers at anyone in particular.

He also takes time to bring up the skeptics and how they are (from his point of view) wrong, and misleading the public.

Most of the movie is done like a slideshow with him on stage, you might think.. bah! boring, but really, it is not at all. Of course if you don’t want to think, or pay attention, go see Nacho Libres :P

Rotten Tomatoes Review - self explanatory, but good to note that this very critical site at the time of this posting had it at 90% (good).

And, well.. here’s a trailer for it too ;) (courtesy of Google Video)

I saw a preview for that movie just the other day and it looked really interesting. I’ll probably have to wait until it comes out on video, though — I hate going to the movies by myself and it’s hard to convince any of my friends to go see a documentary with me. They’ll be the ones in line for Nacho Libre.
